Family

Our family team offers specialist, comprehensive and tailored advice, either at the outset of a relationship or on relationship breakdown. Our expertise is wide-ranging and includes advising upon divorce, the financial consequences of divorce, civil partnerships, the unmarried family, ownership of property, prenuptial agreements, and arrangements for the care and upbringing of children.

As one of London’s leading family law teams, we specialise in cases involving complex financial arrangements including those with substantial assets, family companies, off-shore funds and family trusts. Our work often involves an international element and we act for both UK and foreign nationals. Our clients have very diverse backgrounds, financial circumstances and needs.

We work very much as a team led by Helen Pidgeon. This gives our clients the benefit of our combined skills, experience and expertise. We accept a limited number of instructions so that we can provide our clients with a truly bespoke service, tailored to their individual needs. A lead solicitor acts as the primary point of contact for each client, and is supported by other members of the team who are also familiar with that client’s personal circumstances. This ensures that our quality of work and personal attention shown to each client is of the highest standard.

Our approach is both pragmatic and realistic. We help our clients to exercise control over their life and future by empowering them to make good, well-informed, legal decisions. We focus upon achieving a timely and cost effective resolution of matters. We offer litigation and its alternatives including lawyer- led negotiation, mediation and collaborative family law. Where possible, we adopt a constructive and non-adversarial approach with the aim of reaching the best possible outcome for the whole family. However, where circumstances dictate, we will be firm and decisive in advancing and protecting our client’s interests.  By way of example we have extensive experience of successfully tracing, freezing and recovering assets hidden worldwide.

Being a full service firm we are able to draw on the expertise of our colleagues who specialise in a wide variety of legal disciplines. This offers our clients’ additional and complementary legal advice and services tailored to meet both their personal, professional and business needs.

We appreciate that there are more than legal principles involved when a relationship breaks down. Some of our clients benefit from the emotional and practical support of a divorce and separation consultant. They find that such support can help them to focus their minds and face the difficult decisions resulting from their changing circumstances. We offer this service to any interested client.
