Charities

Our charities group, incorporated within our private client department, provides a range of services designed to meet the special requirements of all those in the charity sector. Our expertise ranges from the creation of the charitable body, advising on constitutional and administration issues, providing advice and assistance in the administration of estates where a charity is appointed personal representative and contentious issues involving a charities entitlements and assets.  In addition we are able to draw on the expertise of other departments to advise charities on such issues as commercial law, property and employment issues.

We have built a strong reputation over many years, working with some of the UK’s best known charities.

We undertake work for theatrical charities, academic charities, charitable trusts and not for profit organisations of all types and sizes.
All members of our charities group are registered specialists in their field and belong to various professional organisations including STEP (Society for Trust and Estate Practitioners), ACTAPS (Association of Contentious Trust and Probate Specialists) and the Charity Law Association.

Many members give lectures on their areas of practice and publish articles.

Our commitment to charities is such that we offer a free charity help line to assist charities in the early stages of an issue or problem - a service which is greatly appreciated by those who use it.

We have been recommended by both the Legal 500 Directory and Chambers. To find out more about how we could help your charity, please contact Alex Cuppage or Gaynor Jackson.
